Before we dive any further into the specific skills, services, and products you can provide to start making money online fast, you need to be prepared to do so. Now is a great opportunity to reflect on the value that you can offer to others, on a more immediate basis. How do you expect to make money online, without having something to offer in exchange? The truth is you can’t, and quite honestly, learning how to market online will end up being a worthless endeavor if you don’t have the bare minimum prepared to move forward.

Set up a website, landing page, or Linktree - You need a place for people to go. A great example of this could be to have a Pinterest profile that articulates what services you provide to others. Within your profile page, they can see that you have an outbound link, which can go anywhere. Have this link go to your Linktree, which you can sell directly from, or to your website, where you’ll host your products.
Make sure your page is prepared to convert. Your product or service must be clear. It doesn’t need to be too many pages long, and it doesn’t have to be a website at all. Here’s an example of high-converting Linktree pages. It’s a cheap and efficient option to be prepared to succeed, once the traffic starts rolling in!
Have an automated system in place for follow-through. No matter what you’re selling online, you need to be prepared to deliver. Have an email sent out automatically from Mailchimp, or Constant Contact thanking your buyer for their purchase. Within the email list out the next steps clearly. Give them your contact information, and even add a Calendly link for them to book a meeting if necessary. Transparency is key, and one bad review can crush your business, especially when you’re just learning how to make money online.

Regardless of which career path you ultimately take, making money online isn’t as easy as it seems. There are many scams out there, so ensuring people that they will be protected, along with guarantees, and trust signals (testimonials, refund policy) will certainly help you bring in cash, no matter where you are in the world!

In 2018 when I started this business, all of the resources I hired for my design agency were remote. It was quite lonely, but it would soon become the norm. Now, almost everyone works remotely. We often employ designers and engineers in many countries around the world. You can do the same! If anything requires any in-person interaction, like a rental of an Airbnb, you'll hopefully have decided the location where you want to make the purchase. Working remotely has been more accessible than ever and as a digital entrepreneur, you’ll be able to make money online, from anywhere in the world, from the comfort of your coffee shop, or home!

The strategies that you’ll learn in our book can be applied to making money online, offline, and remotely (anywhere in the world), regardless of your nationality, gender, or age. What you need to focus on is learning how to determine if you have an interested audience, before you commit to building out a product suite. Once you have a landing page, and analytics dashboard reads to capture your data (see example) you’ll be able to move that traffic in almost any direction that you desire.

To make money online, like you might in the gig economy, also requires that you have an online presence. This is why it’s important for you to focus on social media marketing, to enable you to build up a personal brand. This personal brand can serve one purpose today, and an entirely different purpose tomorrow. This is why, regardless of the content that you share, or the ways that you engage with people online, you’re encouraged to share aspects of your personal life that can make you more relatable. Otherwise, if you become too niche with your audience, or at least the way you communicate, can ultimately pigeon-hole your work opportunities. Let’s learn how your new marketing skills can help you build up a business offline (see list below).

1. Become a private tutor

If you excel at subjects such as chemistry, science, language, or any expertise that learners find attractive, this is a great opportunity to turn that expertise into a side hustle, or full-time gig! You can educate your students both offline and online. You charge whatever you want, though ideally this should be aligned with your experience, expertise, and demand for it. Check out what types of tutors are needed on sites like Reddit.com, Quora.com, or within Facebook communities. You can also promote your services locally at associations, universities, or any other “learning center”. Don’t forget, there are also a ton of Meetup.com events, based on subjects that people want to learn, like Chinese (Mandarin).

2. Airbnb & property rentals

Depending on which city, state, and country you live in, renting out your home, room, or vacation rental can bring in big money for you. You’ll need to maintain the property after each visit, but you can treat it as if you were simply having friends over. If you don’t like to clean, you can hire cleaning services and have that fee priced into the rental value. Just be prepared to spend money on maintenance, and have a great insurance policy in case of damage. As long as you don’t love the home “too much”, then it’s something that can give you an instant boost. Let’s consider this a hybrid strategy. You can list on Airbnb, but also learn to market yourself and your website, so that you always have a full pipeline of potential renters!

3. SPIRITUAL PRACTITIONER

A spiritual counselor is a compassionate listener, a wisdom bearer, and an intuitive soul companion. For you, they work to create a sacred space to explore your inner depths and rediscover the sacred essence inside. They are there to listen to you and advise you on life decisions, financial decisions, and relationship ideas. While the rewards of spiritual counseling are profound, the financial aspect adds stability to this soul-enriching career. 6. Trade in your iPhone, android, or used electronics

Quick, hurry, before it’s too late, take that extra iPhone, iPad, Macbook, or laptop and exchange it for some money. There are top-notch websites such as Reddit, Facebook marketplace, and even Amazon’s trade-in program. Ebay has always performed well, or simply reach out to your inner circle to see if someone is in need of a new device. It may seem worn out to you, but the switch of a battery and a new operating system will surely have that old device up and running in a heartbeat!

7. Become an athletic coach

Do you have an interest in sports? Have you played sports in high school, college, or University? Even if you participate in recreational communities and have a passion for any game, there’s always a large cohort of people out there who love the same sport as you. Young athletes are always looking for opportunities to learn the game, and with video platforms, there is always new information consistently surfacing that you can take and apply to your coaching strategy (or personal game). Take everything that you’ve learned, create a coaching package, and promote your services within your local community as a way for young athletes to learn in their downtime. You don’t need personal trainer certification to show off your skills to the locals, just hopefully you’re great at instruction giving!

8. Rent out your car while you’re not using it

People who live in cities like New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles can easily go for days at a time without using their vehicle. Idle time can now be transformed into money with apps like Turo. These apps take a cut while it’s being rented, but also help to provide you with the appropriate insurance policies required to rent your car out by the hour, and day. Depending upon the time of car you have, you can also increase fees. Time to take out that extra Porche 911 that’s been collecting dust in the garage mate, money is on the way to save the day!

9. be your own delivery driver

Forget about Amazon, Uber Eats, and Instacart, once you’ve read The Growth Checklist, and implemented our marketing strategies to build your own personal brand, you can position yourself as a delivery driver for any type of package. You could even offer your services as a getaway driver (Cough, Ryan Gosling) during the night, or hell, why not during the day (Cough, BabyDriver). In all seriousness, no, we do not condone any form of vigilante, or criminal acts. Please drive safely at all times, and be considerate of your friends on the road, but if people need items delivered across the city, and you’re available, it could be a great business to have, just make sure you consult with a local law firm about limitations!

10. become a local vendor for online sales

While this activity may seem unique, imagine the proposition you could make to local businesses, that you have an online store that generates over 120,000+ visitors a year, and a blog focusing on cute cat products. Well, you could locally approach any pet store, or cat lover that has a physical product to sell and use your platform to help them make sales. You could list their items on your website, and ensure that sales are made. You could take a portion of the profits, as long as they make sure that their product is appropriately packaged and delivered. You would essentially become a local Amazon (of sorts), and a champion to the community! Wow, how unique! I will say I haven’t seen anything like this anywhere, but then again, no one is proactively teaching you how to generate traffic to a website right now, either!

11. Art Therapist

Art therapy uses art as the primary mode of expression, alongside talking with an art therapist. It aims to reduce distress and improve social, emotional, and mental health by promoting insight, self-compassion, and a sense of agency and self-worth. During art therapy, you are supported by an art therapist to use art to express and articulate often complex thoughts and feelings through art making. This may be following difficult or traumatic experiences which may be hard to talk about. Forms of art therapy include painting, clay making (Pottery), calligraphy, and many more activities that connect with your inner self, to bring out abstract aspects of one’s self!

While income can vary based on factors like location and experience, the demand for yoga instructors is on the rise. Expect massive growth potential for online instructors from now until 2030, with opportunities to boost earnings through private online group sessions, workshops, and retreats.

16. Personal Trainer

Personal training is one of the most rewarding professions you can have. You get to improve people's lives while getting paid to do what you love. Now, since the COVID pandemic, many personal trainers have a hybrid schedule of taking both offline and online clients. If you’re a personal trainer, and struggling to find clients, you have not successfully incorporated the tasks required to scale your business. It’s a lot easier than you think, and many communities have people who are one question away from becoming your client, all you simply have to do is ask. Of course, to become a personal trainer, you do need to have certifications, and I recommend you work with ACE, NASM, or ISSA to get your certification. While waiting for your certifications to arrive, why not work on setup up a landing page, and driving potential clients to it? Share with them what you’re learning, and how you can help them today with helpful content. If I were an aspiring personal trainer today, I would take this approach. You could even set up partnerships with other personal trainers to service your community, while you wait. It’s a win-win for everyone!

17. drone photographer

Do yourself a favor and go get yourself a drone with a camera. You should be able to get one for less than $500 bucks, and that investment can be turned around to make some great money within days. It’s great for taking videos of real-estate tours, office buildings, fields, terrain, search and rescue missions, weddings, birthday parties, or any other type of event or ceremony (concerts, festivals, etc.). You can also learn other skills like mapping of land and surfaces using 3-D lidar technology for construction firms, or interested parties. Drone technology has opened up an entirely new industry of photography, and videography. If you’re an enthusiast, what a fantastic way to build a local audience who follows you, and your latest creations, and potentially set themselves up to be a future client of yours! This is the power of building community!

Some of the best camera drones cost less than $500 — and you can use that investment to turn around and make money. Real estate agents turn to drone pilots to generate aerial photos of a home's exterior, and even neat fly-through videos of interiors, which can translate to a relatively easy money-making venture. If you're willing to learn more advanced skills, like drone mapping, you can often charge more for clients seeking aerial inspections and land mapping. You need to pass a test to become a drone pilot and register your drone with the Federal Aviation Administration. Then, you can apply for flying gigs.
