Making money online has never been faster, and easier than it is right now. The problem that many of us face is that we have never prioritized the most important skill needed, once we have our product, service, or skill available to offer to potential clients. Online marketing. Many of us place social media on the back burner and never spend enough time to master it. In fact, knowing the best social media marketing strategies, and the appropriate platforms to market on will not only help your business grow but help you obtain “escape velocity”. Escape velocity is the concept that in the beginning you’re putting in twice the amount of work, only to be paid a little bit, but with a social media marketing strategy like the one we provide here, you’re twice as likely to bring in more money, due to having a pre-built audience in place.

Here’s how I would go about building up an audience before I decide to launch a new product or service (see below).

Set up a Landing Page / Website about your offering.

Create a waitlist (if the product isn't ready), with a product overview of sorts.
Drive traffic to the waitlist, and work to optimize that conversion funnel.
Nurture the audience with relevant content, progress reports, personal life updates, and referral requests.
Release your product, or keep scaling the audience. Rinse and repeat until you're ready to launch.

This is a great way to build hype for something without going crazy. I great converting website could be done for $500 - $5,000.00, or less if you know how to build it yourself. A 1-pager honestly would suffice! In 30 days you could generate thousands of visitors (see image below) to your landing page. It will of course be your responsibility to have a great sales pitch, but the goal is getting visitors to “convert”.

1. Online Cooking

The COVID-19 pandemic changed the way we interact with everything. One of those industries affected is restaurants and the food industry. Businesses adapted, though, and instead of customers coming to them, they came to the customers. The result: A rise in virtual cooking classes. These cooking entrepreneurs are providing 3 interesting types of offerings (according to IntegrisHealth)

Pre-recorded cooking classes - These types of classes are for families on the go or couples and individuals with busy schedules. The beauty of pre-recorded classes? You can watch them on your own time, whether that’s after picking up the kids from school or early on a Saturday morning.
Live cooking courses - These cooking courses are more personal than a pre-recorded guide on how to make a certain dish. Live virtual cooking classes can vary from 1-on-1 sessions to large group settings.
Virtual Cooking with ingredients delivered - Think of this category as a combination of a live cooking class with a meal delivery service. Pre-portioned dinner kits are growing by the year. Chefs and cooks took this idea and used it to complement virtual classes by allowing customers to purchase ingredients from them to make the dish.

Best for people who don’t have the time to stop at four different grocery stores to find ingredients for one dish, or friends looking to spice up dinner night! Pinterest serves as a great platform to start with recipes!

2. start an agency

There are many types of agencies out in the world. Typically, when someone starts an agency, it’s based on the skillset that closest aligns with their work experience. For me, I was a designer, so starting a design agency was a no-brainer. For those of you who aren’t an engineer, IT consultant, or social media marketer, here’s a list of different types of agencies you could think about starting (below).

If you decide that Print-on-demand is an option for you, I would suggest that you avoid courses. The reason is quite obvious, but we’ll explain it for anyone who doesn’t know. If so many Print-on-demand experts are doing so well, why is it that they are selling a course? Immediately you could say that a course doesn’t make someone a scammer, and I agree with you, but if [everyone] is selling a course, and no one is focusing on scaling their stores up, something might be off. Almost 90% of videos you find online about POD have a course attached to it.

My recommendation for you is to avoid the course, but the information in the videos will be worth your time!

Also affected by the pandemic, coaching, health & wellness, and many other forms of coaching have pivoted to a hybrid of both offline and online Many entrepreneurs are creating programs where they can supplement real activity, with online strategies, and even digital training sessions to keep clients motivated in remote environments. Some personal trainers have clients all over the world, and will never meet them in person, which is fantastic, as long as they are seeing results of course!

After experimenting with both AI and social media I decided to take the social media route, as it was a better value-add for my current customers. Before I made that decision, I enrolled myself in plenty of courses and bought many books to learn. 7. Become a social media influencer

Many companies use influencers to boost their product sales. These are individuals with large followings online, that get their followers to take action on products through content creation. There are really great marketing platforms like Aspire, or Open Influence help to connect you with a company in need. Not limited to just Instagram, TikTok, X, and Linkedin are also great ways to connect with consumers!

Websites like Upwork, Freelancer.com, and Fiverr offer many different types of jobs such as development (programming), design, marketing, data entry, video creation, and even virtual assistant work. A Freelancer report found that creative writing jobs had the fastest growth in listings on its site back in 2023. Some freelancers working on SEO are charging upward of $100 per hour.

Though these are options available to you, I will admit that they will probably drag you through the wringer just to get yourself set up. My recommendation is to research work opportunities that are hot, and then drive traffic to your own website in order to provide this service. This way you don’t have to deal with the headache of consistently changing rules and regulations of platforms like Upwork.

9. Test websites like usertesting.com

Our app design agency works with many entrepreneurs looking to raise angel investment, and venture capital funding for their startups. For early-stage startups that still remain in the ideation phase, running qualitative and quantitative surveys is an amazing way to get insights into your product idea, even if you only have a prototype to show. Many surveys often pay you a fee for your time. UserTesting is one of the best ways to earn money online fast. On average, most contributors take one or two tests per week. You can receive a test at any time, on any day of the week.

10. AI Tools & Prompt Engineering Consultant

According to Coursera, “Prompt engineering” is the process of optimizing the output of language models like ChatGPT by crafting input prompts that help language models understand the desired output. Prompt engineering is all about asking a language model better questions, giving it better instructions, and even assigning it a role so that it generates the output you want, such as a list of blog topics, product descriptions, and coding documentation. Good prompts connect what a human wants to create with what a machine can generate. As a prompt engineer, you’ll need to be able to build concise but effective prompts using different techniques that yield the outputs you need.

12. product hunt launch Consultant (hunter)

Launching on Product Hunt is the goal of many SaaS founders around the globe. In many cases, finding a “Hunter” to help you with your posting/publication is anyone who has an audience that can help you extend reach and influence on the day of launch. A hunter can be anybody with a personal Product Hunt account. That can be you, your co-makers, or an enthusiastic user.

While you cannot charge entrepreneurs to act as their Hunter as it’s against Product Hunt guidelines, you can certainly consult many tech founders on the strategies that you’ve used to not only build an audience for your SaaS product, but how you managed to maintain growth both during, and after a product hunt launch as a consultant.

13. content writer & blogger

Now that you’ve taught yourself how to consistently get 10,000 visitors to your website each month, you can make money by joining an affiliate network. Affiliates (that’s you) get paid when someone clicks through from your website to a partner site and buys something! Bloggers make good money, especially those that do this full-time.

14. Become a live streamer on Twitch

Gaming is an industry that will always be in a boom cycle. As technology advances so will the excitement around how gamers connect with the games and stories of their favorite MCs. Many streamers who play games use sites like Twitch. Streamers receive income and donations from viewers and even get a share of subscription and ad revenue if they reach affiliate and partner status.

Here’s a way to learn how.

15. Photographer, videographer, drone operator

New products like Sora, the product from OpenAI that creates incredibly stunning videos will certainly be disrupting Hollywood, and many types of traditional advertising within the next 5 years (perhaps less), but it doesn’t mean that it will kill opportunities to provide value as photographer, videographer, or drone operator. A stronger argument can be made that original photography, media, and unique footage from hard-to-reach angles are of more importance than ever before.

You cannot replace real images and moments (Weddings, Graduations, Ceremonies). You cannot replace the reality of nature, in unique places that have yet to be explored by masses. This Nikon Advertisement (see video below) is a great example that illustrates that bespoke photography and videography cannot be replaced.

16. product launch service

This one is shaping up to be one of my favorite entrepreneurship use cases online. AppSumo, an entrepreneur's platform for buying and selling digital products, helps entrepreneurs list their digital products. You set the price, deal terms, and plan, and they focus on driving traffic to your product in exchange for a cut of the revenue generated from their product.

With your own website or platform, you could offer something similar. What value could you offer to a business that sells a product, or service, by helping them them market their product? Additionally, by running consistent launch campaigns directly from your website, you’re simultaneously building up your own brand like an AppSumo.

I highly recommend this as a 5-star business opportunity!

17. ticket reseller

If you have ever needed tickets to a popular sporting event or concert, you know how hard it can be to secure in-demand tickets. A ticket middle-man (Broker) takes on the task of deciding which events are hot, buying tickets in advance, and reselling the tickets for a profit. Event Experts estimate that ticket brokers make a profit of between 50 to 400 percent. The job of a ticket broker requires both foresight and creativity.

This is an almost perfect model to buy products digitally and re-sell them as prices go up.

18. enthusiast community manager

Think of this as something like a MOD on Reddit, but in reality, you could do this for any niche available on the internet. Simply create your website, and landing page with copy that attracts the demographic you seek, post frequent batches of helpful content to your community, and allow for open discourse in accordance with whatever rules you set. It may be of value to get a feel for what might be missing in similar communities and use this as an opportunity for others to find what they’ve always been missing!

19. relationship/ dating/ parenting consultant

There are certified and regulated consultants that focus on relationships, parenting, dating, and other important interpersonal topics. But recently there has been a rise in social media influencers who focus on sharing their experience with marriage, parenthood, dating, and other topics that we find interesting. Many of these influencers are not professionals in the field, but by sharing what they know from home healing remedies, cooking methods, and disciplinary processes, they are attracting millions of followers, and creating brands around the way that they live out their lives.

Once you’ve established a large enough following you can pick and choose the affiliate partners that align with your personal brand. This is extremely accessible thanks to platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, and more!

20. personal stylist

Personal stylists help clients create a suitable (and obtainable) image by choosing clothes and accessories that fit a client's body and other individual needs. They may also provide style advice and assist with hair, make-up, and even home decor. This industry as been disrupted in a way that you can service hundreds of high-profile clients all from the comfort of your home. Sometimes flexibility and travel will be required for big events that deserve your attention, but do not worry, as the demographic that typically seeks out personal stylists is certainly the ones who can afford it!

First become a successful social media marketer, then build your Pilates practice!

The strategies that you’ll learn in our book can be applied to making money online, offline, and remotely (anywhere in the world), regardless of your nationality, gender, or age. What you need to focus on is learning how to determine if you have an interested audience, before you commit to building out a product suite. Once you have a landing page, and analytics dashboard reads to capture your data (see example) you’ll be able to move that traffic in almost any direction that you desire.

To make money online, like you might in the gig economy, also requires that you have an online presence. This is why it’s important for you to focus on social media marketing, to enable you to build up a personal brand. This personal brand can serve one purpose today, and an entirely different purpose tomorrow. This is why, regardless of the content that you share, or the ways that you engage with people online, you’re encouraged to share aspects of your personal life that can make you more relatable. Otherwise, if you become too niche with your audience, or at least the way you communicate, can ultimately pigeon-hole your work opportunities. 21. Become a private tutor

If you excel at subjects such as chemistry, science, language, or any expertise that learners find attractive, this is a great opportunity to turn that expertise into a side hustle, or full-time gig! You can educate your students both offline and online. You charge whatever you want, though ideally this should be aligned with your experience, expertise, and demand for it. Check out what types of tutors are needed on sites like Reddit.com, Quora.com, or within Facebook communities. You can also promote your services locally at associations, universities, or any other “learning center”. Don’t forget, there are also a ton of Meetup.com events, based on subjects that people want to learn, like Chinese (Mandarin).

22. Airbnb & property rentals

Depending on which city, state, and country you live in, renting out your home, room, or vacation rental can bring in big money for you. You’ll need to maintain the property after each visit, but you can treat it as if you were simply having friends over. If you don’t like to clean, you can hire cleaning services and have that fee priced into the rental value. Just be prepared to spend money on maintenance, and have a great insurance policy in case of damage. As long as you don’t love the home “too much”, then it’s something that can give you an instant boost. Let’s consider this a hybrid strategy. You can list on Airbnb, but also learn to market yourself and your website so that you always have a full pipeline of potential renters!

23. SPIRITUAL PRACTITIONER

A spiritual counselor is a compassionate listener, a wisdom bearer, and an intuitive soul companion. For you, they work to create a sacred space to explore your inner depths and rediscover the sacred essence inside. They are there to listen to you and advise you on life decisions, financial decisions, and relationship ideas. While the rewards of spiritual counseling are profound, the financial aspect adds stability to this soul-enriching career. If you’re unsure about pricing, research the product and find similar prices online for “used”.

6. Trade in your iPhone, android, or used electronics

Quick, hurry, before it’s too late, take that extra iPhone, iPad, Macbook, or laptop and exchange it for some money. There are top-notch websites such as Reddit, Facebook marketplace, and even Amazon’s trade-in program. Ebay has always performed well, or simply reach out to your inner circle to see if someone is in need of a new device. It may seem worn out to you, but the switch of a battery and a new operating system will surely have that old device up and running in a heartbeat!

26. Become an athletic coach

Do you have an interest in sports? Have you played sports in high school, college, or University? Even if you participate in recreational communities and have a passion for any game, there’s always a large cohort of people out there who love the same sport as you. Young athletes are always looking for opportunities to learn the game, and with video platforms, there is always new information consistently surfacing that you can take and apply to your coaching strategy (or personal game). Take everything that you’ve learned, create a coaching package, and promote your services within your local community as a way for young athletes to learn in their downtime. You don’t need personal trainer certification to show off your skills to the locals, just hopefully you’re great at instruction giving!

27. Rent out your car while you’re not using it

People who live in cities like New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles can easily go for days at a time without using their vehicle. Idle time can now be transformed into money with apps like Turo. These apps take a cut while it’s being rented, but also help to provide you with the appropriate insurance policies required to rent your car out by the hour, and day. Depending upon the time of car you have, you can also increase fees. Time to take out that extra Porche 911 that’s been collecting dust in the garage mate, money is on the way to save the day!

28. be your own delivery driver

Forget about Amazon, Uber Eats, and Instacart, once you’ve read The Growth Checklist, and implemented our marketing strategies to build your own personal brand, you can position yourself as a delivery driver for any type of package. You could even offer your services as a getaway driver (Cough, Ryan Gosling) during the night, or hell, why not during the day (Cough, BabyDriver). In all seriousness, no, we do not condone any form of vigilante, or criminal acts. Please drive safely at all times, and be considerate of your friends on the road, but if people need items delivered across the city, and you’re available, it could be a great business to have, just make sure you consult with a local law firm about limitations!

29. become a local vendor for online sales

While this activity may seem unique, imagine the proposition you could make to local businesses, that you have an online store that generates over 120,000+ visitors a year, and a blog focusing on cute cat products. Well, you could locally approach any pet store, or cat lover that has a physical product to sell and use your platform to help them make sales. You could list their items on your website, and ensure that sales are made. You could take a portion of the profits, as long as they make sure that their product is appropriately packaged and delivered. You would essentially become a local Amazon (of sorts), and a champion to the community! Wow, how unique! I will say I haven’t seen anything like this anywhere, but then again, no one is proactively teaching you how to generate traffic to a website right now, either!
